A few different questions maybe y'all can answer

Just some random questions I have..
1. I have a colonoscopy at 8am Monday. When is the last time I can eat?
2. I've mentioned before it hurts to contract down there when I use the bathroom. But it also feels like something is blocking the rest of the bm to come out. Am I just imagining that and it's probably just a roughed up rectum from going so much?
3. What's the best time to take lialda?
4. After my scope, he will probably start me soon on remi or 6mp. I am tapering down my pred now (wasn't working much). What are my chances of remission? It seems like everyone on here never really gets into full remission :( depressing

You're flaring...hence the feeling in the rectum. No matter how high the inflammation goes, the rectum will give you grief. That could also be in combo from going so much (if you are)...and possibly have external/anal inflammation from wiping, fissure/hemmie, etc.

Lialda can be taken once or twice daily....I'd suggest taking it twice.

Get on rectal meds....!!! you need to at least try them.

I have no experience with the immune meds...I wouldn't try them anyway. But others do have success and ONLY had remission with them. It's worth a try if you're wanting to go that route.

People in remission are not going to be reading this board that's pretty much guaranteed. I know many UCers with mild/manageable disease and they think I blow this whole thing out of proportion and I've totaly lost the plot because I'm always researching it. We are the unfortunate exception.
As for prep - we were advised low fibre four days before, no eatiing after a light lunch the day before scopes. We use pico salex here but I know others who've not been able to eat for two days. Depends on your prep/GI. They really should be giving you this information before the fact. Odd.
"Blocked" feeling is likely rectal inflammation. Do what Quincy says.
Liadla - dunno, in the morning is when we gave it to my daughter.

I've done c-scopes with several doctors and the best doctor gave a sheet of instructions of what not to eat, when to start not eating solid food, etc and all the info needed for a good prep for the scope. It's really derelict of doctors not to do the minimum of handing out one piece of paper with this information.

They put the "duh" in doctor.

I'm looking at that one piece of paper now lol. While this thread is still new.. I have another question. I was running some errands earlier and I've been having massive brain fog lately (throwing stuff in the toilet instead of the garbage can by accident etc ) and while I drive I've been getting kind of dizzy. Sometimes it's like everything goes out of focus. And I've had a non stop mild pressure head ache. Should I chalk it all up to pred?

i'm dizzy and lightheaded pretty much the entire day, but I've kind of gotten used to it so it's the norm for me.

how recent was your blood work for iron, what about blood pressure check.

if youve been having Diarieah for 6 weeks.. you are probably dehydrated too..
