Hi all,
I've been in/out of remission for the past few years, and I have also switched mesalamines a few times. However, I have a puzzling problem- amenorrhea. I'm only 23, but I stopped getting my period 3 years ago. (Worked just fine before that!) It's not some problem like premature menopause or PCOS as I've had my hormones checked several times. They show that I am pretty much back to 12 years old. I am at a lower, but healthy weight. I used to run daily, and I thought that was definitely the issue. But now, as I study in med school, I have been pretty much sedentary for 1 year, I've gained weight, yet still no P. I've been on BC a couple times now because of it (low estrogen is NOT good for the bones...), and things work. However, not on my own. :-/
I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem? I know it doesn't seem like the biggest problem to have, and my friends are always like "LUCKY I HAVE SUCH BAD CRAMPS." Ummmmmm, not feeling so lucky about it, and quite frankly, a bit scared?
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
All the best,
MNL
