They get out of balance due to a disruption in the production of bh4 which drives dopamine and seratonin ( which control gut motility).. This is usually due to a down regulation of bhmt or mthfr genetics. Sugar provides energy to try and drive the response, but it is a burst, pushing the reaction hyper, like
opening the floodgates in spurts, not a steady, controlled sustained release that we need. This creates inflammation instead of healing. Supplementing things like tyrosine is like smuggling supplies past the gate. Eventually you have got to address the problem at the gate tho.
