hi there all, i am a 38 yr female and 4 yrs agoin 2009 i was rushed to the hospital with severe pain and blood in my stool, i was there for 4 days had a colonoscopy and the end result on paper was unclear. meaning the doctor didn't really say which form of ibd i had. mostly pointed to ischemic colitis. although it did mention leftsided ulcerative colitis here is my dilema..over the past 4 years i would have flare ups they would last about a day maybe two i never had blood, not that i could see. but i did have the severe pain in my left side..i wouls say maybe every 3 to 4 months..so just this past february 2013 i had a really bad flare up, there was blood alot of pain and i even vomited while on the toilet. as i usually did i dealt with it and was feeling better in a day or so. then the last week of april 2013 came around and i was feeling funny at work and knew a flare was coming and it did. this time it lasted 3 days..the thing is i was set to go on vacation out of state so i decided not to go the hospital..worst mistake ever the week of may1 - 9 was horrible i was very sick but this time with new symptoms. anything i ate even oatmeal or crackers gave me a stomach ache and then the pain in my left side then straight to the bathroom. s when i got home i found a gastro dr. had to wait 2 weeks for a app. was feeling better by the time i saw him but explained everything very long story short he wanted a updated colonoscpy which i did yesterday and everything looked ok no ulcers..but the weird thing is about a week after i saw the doctor the joint pain started first on my left side and now on both every single joint i have. from reading and research that i have done this is typical with uc...so i guess my question is does anybody else only have flare ups occaisonally with no blood and a clear colonoscpy but severe joint pain and i still get pain in my left side...i just know the doctor is going to say that i don't have uc but i swear that i do..any info i would love to hear.
