Bleeding came back...

The past four days i've been bleeding with every single bowel movement... I noticed they came back when i tapered to 5 mg of prednisone. I was honestly feeling like crap for 4 full days and i noticed i was also passing mucus (just mucus). Yesterday i had my remicade infusion and today i feel a lot better, but i'm still bleeding. Should i start some rectal meds? any suggestions would be great.

Rectal meds certainly couldn't hurt.

I tried hydrocortisone suppositories when there was a little blood, but this time there is more so i don't think they'll help. Do you suggest i use the enema?

Are you intolerant of mesalamines? I'd use rectal mesalamine over corticosteroid enemas because they are safer over the long term.

go back up to 10mg of pred for a week. add rectal meds (mesalamines) at the same time. then taper back down to 5mg of pred in about a week (while staying on the enemas). the rectal meds should help bridge the gap for you. this method kept the bleeding away for me anyway.

you could do the rectal meds either every night or every second night...you will just have to try & see what works best for you.

I can't do mesalamines. I am intolerant to all mesalamines (asacol, lialda, apriso, canasa, rowasa)

I just called my doctor because i had to do a follow up appointment anyway. He said not to go back up on prednisone since i'm also on uceris and he doesn't want me playing with steriod doses

UPDATE: Have been using bee propolis suppositores (1 morning, 1 afternoon) and one hydrocortisone enema at night only done this for 2 days, almost all the blood is gone :) and tomorrow is my last day on prednisone

Solid is good, your digestive is functioning very well, just scraping on the way out... Glad the propolis is working that's awesome. Google: brasco broth. Make a pot of that, will help you get off enemas
