What the heck was this?

Went to use the Rowasa last night, like I do every other night, and I hesitated because I thought I might need to go.  I had eaten some stuff earlier that I knew might come back to haunt me, but after a few minutes I figured it'd be ok and proceeded with the Rowasa.  A couple of minutes after, I realized that indeed, said food WAS going to come back to haunt me so I visited the bathroom and went, obviously expelling the enema as well.  Once I got back to bed I got a STABBING pain in the butt...like the muscles were seizing up down there or something.  It was awful.  It lasted like 20 minutes or so, and then I sort of relaxed and fell asleep.  I still feel a little sore but the actual pain lasted that short while.  What the heck was that?  I mean, after the Rowasa I sometimes feel a little crampy more in the sigmoid area, but nothing like this.  THIS was butt cramps.

And thank you for letting me post this and understanding.  Anyone ever have something similar happen?  I'd hate to not be able to use the Rowasa.

Well, it didn't hurt at the time, and I don't think I forced it. I guess that's possible that I just hit something the wrong way. Being a worrier, I started thinking that maybe it's something like a fissure or abscess or something funky like that, but I had ZERO symptoms UNTIL the enema. Strangely, I used to get a similar pain after having a BM during my period occasionally--like the rectum or the muscles down there are cramping up.

That's called proctalgia fugax. I rarely get them but they're excruciating!

They're painful but harmless. One time I had it last almost 24 hours. I almost went to the ER lol

I've had those pains too, even feels like my vagina is all cramped up, the pain radiates through out the whole area "down there" and it's awful...just comes out of the blue for me every once in a while.
