Food sensitivity, Stool analysis - 3 different types of fungus present!

Today, around noon, I went to see Dr. Hoffman for my 2nd appointment.

I had a lot of tests done including IgG food, IgE specifics, total and free testosterone range, etc.

I was fairly surprised at my results because it showed that I'm sensitive and VERY sensitive to some things that I thought I was okay with.

- Egg white in IgG panel showed that I'm VERY sensitive to it(positive w/ increasing antibody concentration, level 3)
- Wheat came out to be positively but not as sensitive as to egg white(level 2)
- Apples and chocolate! I knew I was sensitive to them b/c whenever I eat apples, I get itchy in my throat(level 2) but chocolate....
-Tea and coffee(level 3) I love black coffee but haven't had one in months so I guess these are out as well
-Negatve to casein, cheddar cheese, gluten, mushrooms, etc
- No reaction to egg yolk
- It showed that I'm not sensitive to milk at all(tested totally negative) but I'm not going to have it since I'm on SCD

Leyla, my nutritionist from Hoffman center, recommended that I try the eggs fully cooked. Never raw or runny and see if my symptom improves. She told me one of the Crohn's patient in the past wasn't improving to the fullest until she removed runny egg whites or 7 min boiled eggs. She eats them fully cooked or boil them for 10min at least and that solved the problem for her. She's doing great, in great remission.


Now for the stool analysis (just in case someone wants to know which one I ordered -CDSA 2.0 Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis 2.0 from Genova Diagnostics)
it showed that I'm positive for Candida Albicans/dubliniensis, Cryptococcus albidus/neoformans, and Rhodotorula species.

These are all under Fungi and seem to be opportunistic organisms from what I've read so far.
Usually, found in immuno compromised patients like AIDS/HIV and can cause chronic diarrhea even in a non-human immunodeciency virus-infected patient.


You can google them and read that they can cause a lot of things for people.

Dr. Hoffman prescribed me this anti fungal medication, no it's not nystatin or fluconazole or diflucan.

So the question is, I haven't been on ANY kinds of STEROIDS FOR ALMOST 2 years before doing the stool test.

Haven't had any cold for almost 2 years.

Does this mean that I'm immuno compromised in the intestines? Doc said, I may have good immune system up here but not down there, inside my gut.

Maybe I had this for VERY VERY LONG TIME? Since I was young? Also was told that my food sensitivity may be caused by these organisms.

Can these organisms be causing my Crohn's/Colitis issues along with IBS symptoms and D?

Only time will tell. I'm starting the treatment tonight and will update on it.

Just told this to my gastro over the phone and he told me that he hasn't heard of anything with Cryptococcus except in AIDS patients. hm...

This is all VERY confusing!

Yes, you could have had these a very long time. Yes they could be contributing or causing your food allergies. Yes, your gut can be compromised but your zonulin could be doing it's job and keeping it mostly in your gut..

What antifungal did he prescribe? Thanks for sharing that Genova info. They are the only lab I haven't used and I'm very interested since they gave you exact yeast species!

Oh right, the leaky gut scenario. I thought there might have been a more direct causal explanation?

Also, wanted to add that because my total test lvl and free test lvl are at 680ng/dL and 11.2pg/mL respectively, my doctor refused to put me up on bio-identical test therapy/growth hormone therapy.

But my DHEA SO4 lvl is at 196 which is considered abnormal(lower than reference range) and my doctor said it's okay?

I read a few threads that aguywithuc(thank you for some great info) was involved in regarding growth hormone therapy and its healing effect on colitis and recovery in general.

What are some optimal figures for total test or free test level? I know that mine is just in the reference range but I want to bring it up. Hoping that high fat/protein diet with SCD will raise it up higher.
