Really, don't. Sorry, dude. But your POW-like body in a cheerleading outfit might scare some people. Although, I would be the few who would be interested in seeing it though.


Don't know if you can see this, BeatUC, have they given you the option in FT? If she doesn't see this, can someone forward it to her, please?

Not in the hosp now, but it's touch and go, day by day. I can barely stand up, massive weight loss. This will take me a year to recover from, but I can hopefully see recovery ahead.

A year to recover from! Wow. But at least you are out of the hospital now, so definitely progress is being made. Way to go, keep it up.

Good to hear your out of the hospital! That's an awesome and perhaps very welcome first step... And it sucks with the whole time it takes to recover... Honestly I've been trying to recover for 10 years! haha... this whole UC thing sucks. I hear ya though on the frustration.

Miracles seems to be on the same thing as you now - Flagyl and Pred... Just wanted to be sure you're still doing ok.

Someone has to put an end to all this...

Has that deep inside pain and discomfort decreased any? I'm not sure how to describe it but I sure felt a few times. Comes from way deep inside... I think it may be what you felt as well.

I don't know if you need it but a physical therapist helped shorten my recovery time dramatically. We worked on slowly re-engaging core muscle groups while I was still very weak.

Is the pain any better?

BeatUC, WOW how did I miss this thread..? My thoughts are with you. Try to stay positive..

I have to ask..was it the hard shell corn tacos? I remember a few months after recovering from my first ER flare /dx I was in denial and ate 8 tacos from the kit you use at home. OMG did I regret it and was lucky I didn't have to go to er myself. One small step in the wrong direction for Twiggs and one enormous lesson learned for Twiggs.

I havent had them since and its been over a year!

Hang in there...and dont stop fighting!

Sounds like it was a brutal flare-up indeed. I'm glad the worst is over now. Eat plenty, you'll need the nourishment for healing.

I feel like I should say this. There is still the possibility of surgery in your future. Hopefully it won't come to that, but if it does, I don't want you to feel like it's the end. I moan a lot about surgery, but my complaints are relatively trivial ones. I'm healthier than I was before the surgery; and I would be very surprised if you didn't feel the same. Just expect the worst and maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised by the outcome! I'm actually serious about that. Don't place a tremendously high burden on surgery. It's just another treatment, not a cure. If it works better than you could ever have hoped for, fantastic, that's a bonus you weren't expecting. If it doesn't, well at least it must still be better than UC.

whoa, NCOT said something positive. That was very nice. I hope you can avoid surgery beatUC. If you went through surgery and your perspective changed, I think it would give a lot of us a new outlook.

If I end up having surgery, it was to save my life and yes, the perspective would change. Sometimes we run out of options and just do the best we can.
