Hi, all. Just a quick question - I was treated for a pretty severe flare late last year with a one-week course of IV Solu-medrol. It turned me around just fine and I was put on Humira and continued taking azathioprine for maintenance. At the time, the doctor said that she would not feel comfortable using Solu-medrol on me again in the future unless I was hospitlized due to the risk of infection, etc.
Due to some recent complications with moving, etc. I was off of the azathioprine for about a month and have now entered a moderate flare. Most days I feel all right but some are downright awful. I seem to be teetering on the edge of a full-on flare and want to avoid that at all costs. What I really want is to just ask the doctor to give me another course of Solu-medrol since it worked so well last time. Is this something that is done? Is Solu-medrol sometimes used for moderate flares or is it more serious than that? I don't have an appointment until the 10th of September and would like to know if this is even something they'd consider.
Thanks!
