Diagnosed with UC then had blood test disputing colonoscopy

I'm so fed up with doctor's not listening...over a year and a half ago, I was diagnosed with UC after having a colonoscopy. I was then prescribed a Sulfasalazine medication to which I reacted horribly to. My UC symptoms were amplified and I thought I had the worst case of intestinal and stomach flu ever. I was then prescribed a Mesalamine medication and the same thing happened. Then the doctor had me on Prednisone for 4 months, still no change in my symptoms, not even a hint of relief. I went to another GI doctor and he did a blood test that would confirm whether or not the colonoscopy was in fact correct. He stated that the blood test was much more accurate. It came back negative as I suspected. I kept telling the doctors that the meds reactions were because I was taking something for a disease I don't have, but did they listen? No. Now, I'm told I don't have UC, have a nice day, no further investigation! UGH!

I have a hiatal hernia, a peptic ulcer, gerds and acid reflux to which I believe are the causes of my UC type symptoms, however, the doctors keep dismissing this. I have been doing comprehensive acupuncture for the past 4 weeks and have seen significant improvement, but still have occasional symptoms. I can say it's done more for me than the medical doctors. I still think that I have something that needs to be addressed medically, but am at a loss and am so tired of the doctors just not listening. Anyone have any ideas or experiences?

You've been misinformed. A Colonoscopy is the only way to determine if one has UC. My son's blood tests were all normal yet his colonoscopy showed Pancolitis.
