Me too. I would like to share my life story. Sorry for the lengthy one.
On May'10 I was 26years old and I weighed 48kg. Underweight isn't it?
I moved to UK on May'10. I started working out in gym, started eating loads of protein - chicken breast, Salmon, brown rice. I ate only the healthy foods.
On May'11 I weighed 56kg. I considered it as remarkable improvement in 1year. That encouraged me. I worked out intensively with my personal trainer.
On Dec'11 I weighed 62kg. Again fantastic improvement and my parents, relatives, friends were amazed with my physique.
There started the saturation. I got a wisdom tooth infection, I was prescribed with the Antibiotics but I was not aware that I needed to take probiotics as well. I hardly was able to open my mouth because the gums were so inflamed and it was evident from the cheeks as if I had mumps. I hardly could eat any solid because I couldn't open my mouth and I couldn't chew because of the pain.
After the course of antibiotics I felt better, the infection went away. In just 15days I lost 1kg.
This was not over.
On Feb'12, again the wisdom tooth got infected. Again course of Antibiotics and no probiotics.
Again in 15days I lost another kilo. So in Feb'12 I weighed 60kg.
After the course of antibiotics I felt better.
Started my regular work out. But On April'12 again the wisdom tooth got infected. This time I told the dentist I can't take this any more. But she said lets see after the course of Antibiotics.
So another course of Antibiotics. After that I felt better. But again lost another kilo.
So in April'12 I weighed 59kg.
On May'12 again wisdom tooth got infected. Again Antibiotics. After the course I insisted my dentist for extraction. The Xray showed it would be a complicated extraction. i.e by surgery.
So the wisdom tooth was taken out by cutting the gums. Again a course of Antibiotics to keep the operated site away from infection.
For two months just the liquid food. That brought me down to 54kg.
On June'12 I felt better and I thought nothing is going to bother me. I started the workout slowly with my personal trainer. On July'12 I added a kilo. I then started intensively and started eating loads again. But I was feeling something odd - my tummy got bloated and I was getting cramps. I neglected. Keeping the workout intense and the diet high in protein and carbs, fruits, veg.
On Aug'12 I weighed 58kg wow 3kg in 1month.
But I sensed the increase in bloating and incomplete evacuation, constipation, foul smelling gas, foul smelling and hard stool. I neglected all these symptoms again. On first week of Sep'12 noticed blood in the stool, again neglected thinking that it could be due to some piles due to the hard stools.
I was fatigue, my tummy bloated heavily. I continued my workout and in Spe'12 end I added another 2kg. So by Sep'12 end I was 60kg. But the blood in the stool increased and mucus as well.
I stopped the workout because I felt fatigue and my body couldn't respond to the pace. The number of BM increased in the day along with the blood and mucus. I consulted my GP, he said its IBS and the blood is due to the piles.
But I hardly was able to eat anything because I got bloated. My appetite went down.
After a week I got terribly sick - diarrhea started with blood and mucus.
The diagnosis was delayed and then I moved to India for diagnosis and found left sided UC.
On Nov'12 I weighed 57kg. That is it. From there on I've been in the reverse gear.
On May'13 diagnosed with Sigmoiditis. Before diagnosis I weighed 53kg.
After that due to food fear i.e was afraid to eat which might trigger the flare.
Now I weigh 47kg. 15kg underweight.
So I always cheer up myself how I went from 48kg to 62kg. At the sametime my eyes would be with tears how this wisdom tooth infection and Antibiotics course brought UC in me and this UC turned me down from 62kg to 47kg - from muscular to Puny in just one year.
