Keep in mind that your insides still have to heal as well. You know how cuts inside your mouth take so long to heal because you HAVE to chew food... but you can kind of increase the rate of healing by say chewing on the other side of your mouth... Everything MUST pass through this really sensitive, damaged area. So even though the Remicade is in your system, you may still have issues for the time being. An important sign is that the pain is gone - or is dissipating at least. It makes things a lot more manageable once that starts to happen.
I still have my share of issues, and ups and downs, but the fact that I don't have excruciating pain and feel completely blown out after every visit to the washroom is a big deal.
Everything else slowly comes back with time... I lost a fair amount of weight, but even in the six or so weeks I've been feeling on the ups, I've put a decent amount back on. What is important is to take note of things starting to level out before they miraculously starts improving (ie. weight, iron levels, general nutrition, etc.)
