IM ON PREDNISOLONE AND I WAS WONDERING IF IT CAN CAUSE YOUR TEETH TO BRAKE? IVE BEEN ON IT FOR 4 MONTHS NOW CAN IT WEEKEN YOUR TEETH? ONE OF MY TEETH HAS BROKEN AND I WAS WONDERING IF THAT IS THE CAUSE? confused confused confused confused

Probably just a coincidence but nothing's impossible with pred. It can deplete calcium and cause bone loss.

Yes it can.   Have you had your vitamin D levels checked?

Are you on Calcium?

Welcome to the forum....please don't use capitals and underline your entire paragraph. It's very difficult to read..especially when it's all written in BOLD and red.

Whatever you do, don't go to Aspen Dental (a nationwide USA dental mill that will bill you for thousands of work you may not even need). Avoid them.

It didn't cause my teeth to break, but it did cause them to be super sensitive to cold. Like I couldn't even crack a smile outside during the month of December without sensitivity/pain. Fortunately the issue is somewhat reverseable after using Sensodyne or another toothpaste for sensitive teeth for a LONG time.

Be very attentive to brushing/flossing your teeth after meals & schedule dental hygiene at least 2 times/yr. Steroid meds taken over lengthy periods can weaken the bone & also dental ligaments that support teeth in gum sockets. / Old Hat (32 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
