Getting my second opinion tomorrow

Tomorrow I am driving 4 hours to Wake Forest to get a second opinion on my normal GI's orders. Remicade has failed me, Humira's not working (6 weeks+), and I'm pred dependent (12 weeks now and I flare in the middle of the night/morning every day).

My GI thinks that I have IBS and Colitis since I'm left side limited and have gone from from 60 to 30 inflamed. I want my intestines cut out out and a JPouch but he thinks that I have underlying issues. Also, I've developed GERD recently.

Good luck with the second opinion!! Wake is where my GI works out of and where I had my surgery, you should be in very good hands.

Hmm, how long have you dealt with the disease, When were you diagnosed?

Not that I'm a shining example of good results, but I was left side limited and not responding to things like you (was on 40 Pred and full dose Remicade, still had an accident at work). She sent me to Cleveland Clinic, they looked at my tests, and said colon removal was a good idea. So you are not that far out of line in your wishes.

I've been wondering how the 2nd opinion went? How did you like Wake?

Moved onto weekly humira. If after 6 weeks it doesn't work going onto immoran and simpoli. Doing a pred cut right now and am miserable.
