Been out of the loop. Help a girl out, uninsured and buying my pills

Hey folks,
I've been reading up a bit, but just help me out if I'm headed in the wrong direction here with my plan.

I'm uninsured, but hopefully will be getting that taken care of in the next few months or so. And I'm stocked up on several boxes of everyone's best friend, mesalamine enemas, so just need to get my pills.

I have done well so far (6 weeks or so) on delzicol but just had to buy my first out of pocket bottle, ouch.
As far as I know there is no patient assistance program?
So it seems the best option for me right now is to buy the generic from Canada.
Is there a particular website that is good?
Anyone have experience with overseas shipping of meds to Hawaii?
Anything else I should be aware of with ordering etc?

Hubby and I knew ahead of time what the price would be, but the poor guys at the pharmacy nearly had heart attacks when he went to pick up. They did all they could to lower the price, supposedly charged me $15 over their cost, but it's a lot to pay every month!

I've been using blueskydrugs.com for Asacol, hydrocortisone and rowasa for several years. They have good service and were the best price I could find. Based in Vancouver, BC. The Asacol was actually shipped from various worldwide locations so give yourself at least 3-4 weeks supply when you make an order so you'll get it before you run out. The other drugs came from Vancouver, BC and only take about 10 days.

I have Blue Cross insurance and still found it quite a bit cheaper to buy direct from CA, rather than to buy in the US and pay my portion of the prescription coverage.

Hmm didn't think of Lialda, that's a higher mg like asacol HD right?

Not sure if we have assisted health ins. here. I know there is one that you pay $60 per month and it covers one Dr. visit per month and nothing else, essentially useless to me.
And yes, hopefully we'll be signing up for insurance very soon! Then we shall see how long we wait for actual coverage to start.

OT--- Hi Hekela.

Was wondering how you're doing with the ecigs. I've been using them for 2.5 yrs now. I use 6ml aday @ 12mg.

I've been in remission since my first flare in Dec'11, but other than that can't tell if they're helping my UC. Was thinking of increasing my nic level to 18mg...

    Salix has a very good program for Apriso, which is the same thing as Lialda.  Go to their web site which is

$100.00 discount every month.  Apriso is much cheaper than Lialda to start with and for me it's a good deal,

as far as UC meds go.  Your pharmacist should be able to give you other sites to go to for discount programs.

Also, look at the neighbor, Canada. It will not be cheap as assistance program but still pretty decent prices.
I ordered Canasa equivalent from Universal Drug Store, others have ordered stuff from other stores. Search the forum.
