humira,anyone catch psoriasis?

just wondering if others have gotten palmor/plantor pustular psorasis from taking humira?
the humira worked on my uc, it seems as though I traded in the skin on my feet and hands for the result though. I have been off humira for 3 months now and was on it for 4 months so its nearly out of my system but hands and feet keep blistering up

I have plaque psoriasis and for a while it was controlled when I was 6mp. But when I started Remicade, it brought it back. Just not as bad. Which I find odd because they use biologics to treat these skin conditions.

It's possible that you already had the "gene" for psoriasis and the Humira brought it out. Have you seen a dermatologist to determine that this is what you have?

That's crazy. I thought Humira was also used for treating psoriasis?? They play that commercial a lot on TV.

I find drug commercials interesting. On one hand, they make it seem like the drug is safe by showing an everyday working individual we can relate to using it soundly. On the other hand, they subtly list some of the adverse effects on the bottom in small print. Side effects may include cardiac arrest and sudden death. Unfortunately, it's misleading and dangerous. I think it's fundamentally wrong to push drugs to an unqualified audience.

The efficacy of biologics are questionable and the long term effects are still yet unknown. When you actually get down to the medical literature, you'll find poor efficacy rates with high adverse reaction potential, and these are mostly short term studies:

"Serious adverse events occurred in 12% of patients given adalimumab or placebo. Serious infections developed in 1.6% of patients given adalimumab and 1.9% given placebo. In the group given adalimumab, 1 patient developed squamous cell carcinoma and 1 developed gastric cancer."

Don't you think 12% is a remarkably high number? There's a site dedicated to humira victims called humirajustice. Not a fan of lawyers, but the enemy of my enemy is a friend.

I will certainly and for certain. Still a bit early in the pppp and just like a lot of the AI problems its a lot of unknowns. This form of psoriasis is on the rare side and I did strongly consider the risks with humira. I had never heard of this form of it though and I am getting more comfortable with the "fear of the unknown".

I did get the other psoriasis conditions as well (scalp,legs,back, etc.) And a nasty case of Chondritis (ribs went haywire and swelled up between them, it hurt).

Anyone thinking about the drug has to make the jump on their own with the pen and has to think best/worst cases. My outcome this far hasnt been pleasant but it did get me some relief on the uc for now.
