Anyone around St. Louis, MO?

For the most part they are all selling snake oil, including the medical doctors. There is no cure for UC, unless you want to argue that surgery is the cure. If someone really had the answer, including the doctors, it would spread like wildfire and there would be no UC anymore. Even the doctors are using numerous different strategies on their patients because there is absolutely nothing that can be depended on to work in anyone. This extends to all of the alternative snake oil salesman as well. Since medical science has failed to find a cure people do get desperate and this opens the door for sharlatons to pop up everywhere. This has happened to cancer long before UC. What alternative methods actually cure cancer in more than just a select one or two here and there? None. Same with UC.

Yes, I went to him several years ago.  I am a proponent of alternative medicine, supplements, etc, but he was of no help.  Basically, he sold me a huge bag full of supplements (cha-ching!), did some kind of electro-healing stimulation with a machine, and if I remember wanted me to remove all of my fillings in my teeth (I did not remove the fillings btw).  I think he also wanted me to take some kind of iv treatment with metals in it - didn't sound like a good idea to me. I got sicker and sicker, and the last visit to him I had a fever and was really terribly ill.  He basically just told me to keep taking the supplements and it would take time - he wasn't that concerned.  Well, I didn't have time.  I ended up having to go to my GI and having to go on prednisone again.  I believe there are some good alternative physicians, but in good conscience I do not reccommend this dr.  He will clear your bank account and not cure your UC.  In my opinion, he is preying on sick desperate people and just trying to make money.
