They finally figured out what was wrong with me!

I'm back in the hospital for fluids, but leaving today...after all of the stool tests, I finally tested positive for a certain bacteria...wish I had the name. Bad news is, it takes cipro (or similar) or zpack to treat it :( this flare started on a trip in august so it makes since I could have eaten something and it caused the UC flare...I was stressed and more susceptible maybe.

Which bacteria did they test positive for?

If I recall, you were put on cipro and flagyl during your previous hospitalization right?

Oy, I do not envy you!! I had campylobacter years before UC and it was miserable. I had a friend in med school at the time and when he told his classmates that he knew someone who had campy they were all like "Ooooooooooh that SUUUUUCKS!" even the professor! Glad you finally got it diagnosed!
