Yesterday I had to make a drive with my "boss" across the city for an event. It was at least an hours drive. The event was two hours and then we drove back. Anticipating the long drive, my unpredictable gut, I prepared a lot for it, but at the last minute I was so incredibly nervous I took .5 mil of Ativan.
Whenever I take Ativan I suffer guilt from not feeling mentally strong enough. Also I feel after I take it I am not 100% my mentally sharp self, thus more guilt. Also I wonder if people can tell I'm acting different. I even questioned how I did at our event and she said "really great."
I've only used Ativan for travel instances like this but feel so much stronger when I can get by without it. Anyone relate?

I take Ativan 3 times a day. It hasn't bothered me. I mainly take it because my hands and legs were shaking really bad. The Ativan has stopped that. :)

Yes, Ativan (Lorazepam) is a very strong benzodiazepine that will make you foggy and tired and not as sharp. It is often prescribed for insomnia for this reason. I was rx'd with it several years ago. While it does help with anxiety, it also hurts the memory.

you just have another mechanical problem jp - something in your wiring aint right so you need to help it along - absolutely nothing wrong with that -
I for sure don't choose to have a flat tire - I just fix it and get about
my business -

I don't feel any guilt, but just be careful with the memory loss. It hit me hard.

I'd never feel guilty about
that.....but I try to choose meds that don't affect my mind in too much of a negative way.
Regarding taking the anxiety away, you're actually being the you without the interruption of anxiety, so that...you shouldn't feel guilty about
.
You're hardwired a specific way...you need to do something that can interrupt the process.
