Cheap way to get Canasa?

Hi all,

I've been in somewhat of a fleeting remission since I started with Imuran early this year. I am still taking 3200mg Asacol, 100mg Imuran, and a Canasa every night (ish).

However, the prices of Asacol HD and Canasa are really starting to hurt since I am going to back to school. I have already used the 12 refill coupon for Canasa...are there any other ways to dull the cost? I do have insurance but I still pay around $80 per box of 30.

It is cheaper at Canada mailorder pharmacies but not much less than your copay. about $70. Called Salofalk.

If you have good generic coverage, Rowasa retention enemas might be less for you. Ask the doctor if that would work.

Do you have a mail order option on your insurance?  Often you can get a 90 day supply for the price of a 60 day supply (or least somewhat cheaper) by using the mail order.

I am pretty sure you can continue getting dicsounts through canasacare.com

I have ordered from Canada as well and that can be reasonably priced. It's always more than you want to spend, no matter what the cost. Woudln't it be great if we didn't have to spend a dime on this type of stuff?

Thanks everyone. Yes it would be great to not have to worry about meds at all...but life could be worse, much worse.

I'll call the canasacare.com people and see what they say - otherwise it sounds like I'm close to what everyone else seems to have to pay.

I get it from Universal drug store $220 for 90.
