Start keeping a log of activities, diet, etc. because you might discover what causes your flares.
I got them after severe illnesses (flu, food poisoning, complications of seasonal allergies). If I was well for a long time I would start training aggressively (that caused flares as well).
looking back over the 30years with UC I would have changed things (not tried so many alternative treatments and rather rested more and just moderately exercised).
But, you may find the log very helpful down the line. As soon as you noticed something not right, call the doctor. At the start of flares I have brief times where I thought I was better but wasn't. You'll know your body and what works more than your doctor or folks in here (including me).
