New Medicine Coming Soon???

So, I went to the GI yesterday for scheduled check up, but also have been flaring for about 6 weeks..Fortunately he said no colonoscopy now. He agreed to bump up Lialda to 4, although he thinks it wouldn't help at this point. I refused prednisone! He prescribed Uceris for 8 weeks. He did mention Imuran and last resort Remicade. This brings me to the subject..he mentioned a "new drug" coming out soon. I can't remember what he said it was. Does anyone know what it is?

I wonder if that is it, um? I was thinking it started with an S or the sound, at least.

Thanks for the link.  Great news. I just saw my GI recently and we talked at length about meds and she put me on Remicade. I wish she had told me this was coming soon. Next time I see her I will ask her about this. I can't imagine having complete healing of the bowel as described in the article. That would be a miracle.

The medication didn't cause them to die.

If Remicade stops working for me ever I will definitely give this a try. Heck, depending on the results, I might quit Remicade and start this.

Simponi has been approved by the FDA for UC in May.  Cannot find that Cimzia or Xeljanx has been approved for UC.
