Low Dose Naltrexone

Hi everyone,

I'm switching Doctors because I don't feel like the option he's giving me is what I want to do just yet. Everyone I've asked advised against Mercaptopurine but he thinks it's the next move. I have read some bad things about it and with Ulcerative Proctitus and some bleeding/spotting once or twice a day, I don't feel that it's worth taking that. Someone on here suggested Low Dose Naltrexone, I'm sure my doctor won't prescribe it for me because he doesn't listen but I want to know if anyone else had tried it as well and what was your experience with it? Where did you get it and was it with a Prescription? I found a site where they sell it without a Prescription but I know nothing about it to just buy it and start taking it. Any input would be great, I just want to experience remission after 8 months

well, to start off with, take some time to create a sig so we'all know what you're dealing with exactly - tell us things like when you were dx'd with up, what drugs you are on, which ones you've taken, whether you are on any special diets, you know, stuff like that there -

and ignore garyloovill, I think an errant drumstick found it's way to his nether regions ;-)

unfortunately, there are only a few of the current members using LDN - I never have so I can't help -

I understand your reluctance - I feel the same way about big drugs - I can't imagine adding pregnancy to the mix -

but like everything, there are risks whichever way you turn - and no one can tell you what is best for you -

AFAIK, she is champ on LDN. Although I have to be honest, trying LDN AFTER Humira? Why did you not think of it BEFORE Humira?

Because I simply didn't know about it until Insofla suggested it. When you have a doctor that's supposed to be suggesting all this and you have to go on a mission on your own to find alternatives, it's not that easy to come across better medications and know what to take first.

Yes I already did the research and I'm just looking for feedback from people that actually tried it.
