I would NOT recommend you psyllium seed/husk. Although it is referred as a solution to constipation, I am not really in favor of it. 2 of my relatives have constant troubles with constipation (but no IBD), psyllium exacerbates the problems.
And if you do not have easy access to it, I would try Magnesium Citrate 200mg doses instead. I presume, you do not have any cardiac issues. If you do, consult a physician. A stool softener may help.
Start with 200mg of Mg-Citrate per day, after 2 to 4 days, up it to 200mg twice a day, after a week, up it to 200mg 3X a day and within a week or so, you should start seeing the effect. Go slow but steady.
