Hi everyone!!! Just a few questions...wondering if anyone knows?? My church pastor called me this evening to talk with my husband and I about a product called Reliv. Has anyone heard of this product, and if so, does it help colitis patients? My husband is currently scheduled in December for the J-Pouch procedure at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN (he's only 26)...but my Pastor recommends that we give this product called Reliv a shot. I say 'we' as we both have UC! I know bizarre...anyway...My husband is pretty sick with UC, and is not receiving any benefits from any medications. He's been on everything!!!! So just curious if anyone knows about this product and if it truly helps colitis patients??? Thank you, and I look forward to hearing some replies!!!

Well, at a quick look, I see that it's a direct market product, the "distributers" likely make most of their money from recruiting others to become "distributers." The claims I see are about controlling constipation and strengthening the immune system, usually not things we need. If you think, many of the meds we take are to suppress our immune systems and stop them attacking the colon.

I know I'm a skeptic, but I never mess with direct market products. They tend to be a good way to lose your money. I certainly wouldn't put off curative surgery to try a product such as this.

I was looking for information on Reliv also. I know this is an old post but was hoping to hear if you tried reliv and how it worked. I used it a few years ago because I have crohn's disease and very low energy. I took it for about a year and had a colonoscopy done during that time and was told that there were no signs of having any bowl disease. I didn't have any problems at all during that year and I was taking Asacol during that time. I wasnt' able to afford to keep taking Reliv and now I'm at the point where I need to do something again or I will end up needing surgery. I was just wondering if your husband tried it and how effective it was at avoiding surgery.

O am not a reliv distributor, but I have studied the products and the company. They are direct sales/network marketing ( all retail is network, direct sales means person to person) but they are



NOT a pyramid and Not a scam. The company has excellent products which are cutting edge in nutrition science. We use them at our house. I have recommended to friends and relatives that their kids formula might be something to try if experiencing stomach issues. We add their lunasin cap for added effect.

As far as cost goes, we tale the lunasin cap because it multiplies the effect, and then we use half scoops in shakes. That saves a lot of money.

If I were you I'd try he capsiles along with other reliv products. It boosts the effect and saves money.
