Just finished "Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn.
Still kind of stunned by the personalities!
Has anyone else read it? What was your reaction?

The depths of her depravity, especially as revealed after they got back together...wow.
Well, that's about it. ;)

My mum read that... >_>

The plot has sort of been spoiled for me, although not in any detail. I just know that there's endless double-crossings going on.

Now if only I could drag myself away from this hypnotising screen for long enough to actually go and read a book...

Yes, Levi, I couldn't decide which one I disliked more....maybe they deserved each other :-)

I saw online that Ben Affleck (from Boston) will be playing the male lead. Not sure that I would have visualized him but we'll see.....

I've reserved Sharp Objects and Dark Places through our library system.

I agree with everything KMF had to say. Gillian Flynn is one heck of a story-teller.

NCOT- "double cross" doesn't begin to describe what happens. Worth a read!

I dunno if it's in the same vein at all, but a thriller I did really like was Shutter Island. Its impact will be diluted if you've seen the film with Leonardo Di Caprio, but otherwise that was the best mystery I've read in a very long time.

I checked this out from my library and read it in two days. What an amazing and terrible story! Thanks for reminding me to read it.

Such a good book! I also borrowed Sharp Objects and Dark Places from my library after reading Gone Girl. Dark Places is probably my least favorite of the three, but they're all so good.

The main character reminded me a lot of a little girl I used to know. I pray that little girl doesn't grow up to be like that main character!
