Toilet Paper

I've always been a firm believer in buying quality toilet paper. Even long before I had UC, it didn't matter how much money I needed to save, I would never ever ever buy cheap toilet paper.

Yesterday and today, I stayed with someone who buys Scott's single ply "long lasting value" toilet paper! As I was driving to their house, I remembered staying with them months ago and the awful toilet paper they had. I was hoping and praying they had come to their senses by now and started buying real toilet paper... But nope.

Charmin Ultra Strong all the way!

I don't get toilet paper pricing.. I keep meaning to post on this. A few days ago I bought Charmin Ultra Soft like 24 rolls for $8.99 Reg $16.99 or so. The other week it was another brand... And another brand before that...

I think something fishy is going on. Why all the 50% off. Why not well, between paper towels and toilet paper I am just confused on the whole pricing thing. I'm not sure if it's like this in the US as well or not.

Hee hee hee. I switch between different toilet papers, never uber cheap one though...but I've also added in the wet wipe flushables since this constant pooping started....mom moist wipes make a big difference.

Mark - I haven't noticed the pricing in the states, but I also rarely look at pricing when it comes to toilet paper. I know it's not going to affect my decision so I don't even bother observing.

Gary, it's too bad Christmas is over. You could use the leftover Scott instead of tissue paper while gift wrapping!

We've always bought pretty cheap tp. And when I got sick I started noticing how amazing my friends tp is! It seemed like I was wiping my butt with freshly laundered blankets!

So we decided my butt deserved better. Think we got Charmin Ultra Soft. And quilted northern once too...

But had to grab something from the hardware store the other day.... think i might keep this stuff for Kleenex for the rest of winter. Its not terrible... but these hemmies and fissure sure noticed that its not fluffy blankets, lol!

Cotenelle Ultra Comfort Care... sounds AMAZING... think I shall pick some up as a replacement :D

Oh goodness, single ply Scott is the only kind they have at my work. :(

I used to have a bidet which was a blessing.

I usually buy cheap toilet paper I admit. Sometimes I go for the better one if it's on sale.

I also like wipes when I'm flaring.

What I like about Scott is that it doesn't disintegrate. I really hate picking little pieces of toilet paper off my vulva. Seriously.

With that said, I've started using Charmin Sensitive (aloe etc).

But the single most important change I've made this year in this arena is starting to use Balneol. One of the major benefits of it is that you use it on toilet paper which is flushable, unlike wipes which irrespective of what the packaging says are not flushable. I don't know whether you saw that disgusting photo of the huge mass of "flushable" wipes in the London? Ick. Haha -I broke out the calculator on the phone and tried the price divided by length thing and just ran into problems. Back when I was younger it was always sold in umm 6 packs I believe - then all of a sudden out came the giant packs and the pricing went all screwy.

I'm curious who actually pays full price for these - like $16.99 for 24 rolls.

Seems to me it's more of a ploy to get people to "stock" up and move a particular brand at full price where the "real" full price the company wants is actually the 50% off price. So this way they get full mark-up and move a lot of product.

I must be the only one who loves Scott! That's all we use, septic safe, baby! I can't stand that soft cottony TP- it leaves linty pieces all over your butt. Now Scott, one or 2 good swipes & you are clean! 10000 sheets per roll... I'd love a bidet, a real one, right next to the toielt. One of these days....

Love this IDEA... but not that ingredient list. I wonder if I could concoct something like this but all natural. Hmmm... witchhazel and... I'll have to look into it :) :)

I used to always use charmin and cottenell but i got so sick of changing the roll,lately I've been using (dare I say) scott extra soft. It's not soft really but it's better than regular scott and it lasts a darn long time. If i were flaring, I'd probably buy the charmin but my ass is okay right now, i can handle the scott. I actually dread the day I need better and I feel like it's not that far away.

my husbands a plumber (thank god for small favors...!!!), & the absolute WORST thing ever for septic systems are the "flushable" wipes. Yeah, you can flush them, but they don't disintegrate at all. They'll clog up a septic tank in no time, even when the guys come to pump it it can clog the pumping truck hose! Tmapons are bad too, but what are you gonna do? And also- antibacterial soaps... I guess a well-functioning septic system needs those live bacterias to keep the solids down! Not all the different from us, eh??? I grew up with Scott too, love it! I don't find it to be rough at all. It's just not cottony & linty.
