Salofalk tablets

Just wondering, Ive always reacted just fine to salofalk suppositories, but recently was switched to salofalk tablets because my proctitis slowly began developing into mild colitis.

Ive never experience any symptoms to the suppositories but I had a bad reaction to corti-foam (major increased bleeding) so stopped it right away.

Has anybody had any side effects when taking salofalk tablets? Im curious because Ive noticed that ever since starting them about a week and a half ago, I have been gassy, and the bleeding has increased! but its weird, it seems to be helping the proctitis but not the colitis (no bleeding from the rectum when I first start a bm, but the blood all comes out at the end of the bm….)

Has anybody experienced increased bleeding with the tablets and should i stop them? My main symptom is ALWAYS bleeding and its driving me nuts! Fiber is a huge factor in my bleeding and I have to constantly keep up with fiber intake… I just had a colonoscopy 2 weeks ago, very mild inflammation, and no ulcers, no scarring whatsoever… The surgeon said that it looks relatively healthy other than the mild inflammation and if I'm not going to gp into remission anytime soon, I would like to keep it as mild as I possible can.

I agree with Quincy.. I think you need more treatment for the bleeding. I had the foam enemas when I was in a flare and had to stop as it was causing very bad burning.. Everyone react differently what works for one may not work for another I think you need to go back to your dr and get something else for the bleeding or be checked to make sure you don't have hemorrhoids that are causing bleeding.

Well I decided to stop the tablets. I have had enough bad reactions to certain medications (corti-foam made my bleeding SO much worse and have not been able to fully get rid of the bleeding 100% since…) so Im back to doing this all naturally again (with the occasional suppository when needed). My colitis is very mild and have no ulcers, no scarring etc, and I have been doing pretty well with eating only specific foods (mostly paleo diet)and do pretty well with controlling it that way.

yesterday morning I took just the one tablet and skipped the other 2 that I would have taken throughout the day. I went from a toilet bowl full of red yesterday morning to NONE today. I also just started taking some organic fermented wheat grass powder so I think this may be whats good for me as well.

Thanks guys, I don't agree with medicating myself when I don't feel that Im at that point yet. If I've been made worse by other meds, I hate to see how bad it could get when really, I do have control (as in Im not running to the washroom numerous times a day, no cramping etc.., I still and have always had just the 1 bm a day, except for when my colitis got bad about a year or so ago when I wasn't watching what I was eating..)
