Last night I woke up with the stomach flu (not influenza). I threw up for 5 hours but didn't really have diaharrea. Just small stools. Mostly I was throwing up. Almost exactly a year ago I had the same thing but had alot of diaharrea and ended up bleeding. I was on Prednisone last year. This year no Prednisone - I've been off of it since Oct and have been feeling like I'm in remission for some time now.
After about 6am I was able to get some rest, I stayed hydrated by sucking on ice cubes all night (learned that from last year). So I didn't feel as week. I've been drinking flat 7-up all day too and water. Had a few saltine crackers but nothing else to eat.
I took my enema around 2:30pm with no issue. Now all of a sudden at 7pm I have diaharrea and my gut is making tons of noises. I thought maybe I had escaped all that this time. Now I'm worried I will flare again and also worried I'll get dehydrated if I'm constantly running to the bathroom. I have cramps in my gut now too (other than just the sore abs area from throwing up all night).
Is it safe to take anything for the cramping? Or is it better to just let it go? Just seems odd I was feeling better most of the day then all of a sudden I am running to the bathroom. The fever I had seems to have gone away at least.
Thanks and hope everybody is having a happy New Year.
