Hey everyone, I'm "new" here. I put that in quotes, because i've lurked for about a year. Read a lot about UC and UP. Everyone usually has been so positive. I'm glad I found the forum.

Just wanted to introduce myself, post (finally), and thank everyone for being so informative.

Currently fighting a flare. I was hospitalized for the first time (over Christmas!) for a solid week. Feeling better now, and I'm waiting to get into an IBD specialist for a second opinion.

hey CB!

glad you've found us and are posting. can't wait to hear your UC stories. we are so open about everything!!! i feel like this is a group therapy forum.

hopefully you can get this flare under control soon. sucks living in the bathroom.

did you just start prednisone, imuran, and remicade in december or have you been on those for a while??

Hey colitis boy, welcome to the forum. I'm fairly new myself and have learned so much more than I could ever get from the doctor's office.

Sucks to have another member. I hate seeing new people, just means this disease keeps trucking. Please don't take that the wrong way, there are a lot of great people on here. Welcome aboard bud!

Been on remicade for 6 months, just added imuran back. Been on and off Pred for about a year.

I've been fighting this flare for about a year.

Hey everyone - wanted to post an update, and didn't want to clog the board with a new post.

I am currently in remission, thanks for Imuran and Pred! I am excited to say that because it took me SO long to get to remission (almost two years!). During my last colonoscopy, my GI said I had the look of a normal colon! Woo hoo!

We have started Entyvio, and we are tapering Pred. As of today, I am down to 25mg (down from 40mg) of Pred. Fingers crossed Entyvio does the trick! We shall see. My GI also suggested Turmeric (curcumin) because of it's anti inflammatory properties. It's kind of expensive, but whatever works, right? I'll give it a shot.

Anyway, thanks for the support and I hope everyone else is Healing Well!

Entvyio works very slowly from what I've read here. Give it a number of months and come off the pred very slowly so entvyio does it's thing.

Generally the word remission isn't used if pred is being used. Remission means pred free.

rules, rules, rules ! man, uc restricts our lives enough - we don't need no more stinkin restrictions and rules !!
