Max, hypnosis has been shown to really help some IBS patients. There is a program formed that is supposed to help patients. I did all of this. It took 7 one hour sessions with a hypnotist, plus daily practice on my own.
In the end I can't say that it really helped me a ton, but it supposedly helps some people out A LOT.
I honestly don't know why my IBS issues have gotten better. They were still bad on Remicade 10 months out from starting. Then I took Cymbalta for a bit and started dating my fiancee. Somewhere in there that mix of things started helping and I've really done pretty good for a year now.
I take lomotil as needed which slows down my transit time. A couple of those in the morning really helps me throughout the day I think. I still have 1-4 BM's in the morning, but they aren't urgent and then I go through the day peacefully.
