2 Humira pens per week

Is anyone else on this dose. When i first started this in like May i think they gave me 4 pens in one day, 2 weeks later they gave me 2 pens in one day and i seemed to be improving and i went to 1 pen every 2 weeks and after a couple months realized it didn't seem to be helping as much so my doctor upped my dosage to one pen per week for the last 2 months or so...

So i had a colonoscopy today and of course i'm still inflamed, i coud have told him that without the liquid diet and procedure. Lol. So now i've been promoted to 2 Humira Pens per week.

Just wondering if anyone else is on this dose and has it helped any ???

Hum! Never heard of that. I was just changed to Simponi because the once a week became not as effective. Maybe you should check to see if that is right. Heard of people taking 2 every 2 weeks not every week.

Oh it's right, that i have no doubt of, just was hoping to find someone whose been through the same dose...

Thanks, but it's kinda making me nervous seeing as how nobody else seems to have done it yet. I think i know how a lab rat feels now...

I'm sorry, I haven't heard of that either. I was on one pen a week and had very serious side effects. I would be worried.

Yes I was offered 2 per week after trying regular dosage 1 every other week, then 2 pens every other week, then 1 pen per week and when that didn't help my GI offered me 2 pens per week or switch to Simponi. I chose Simponi and that worked better for me than Humira.

Humira worked well for me the first couple of doses like your experience and then it went downhill from there.

KS, How long have you been on Simponi and how well has it worked, are you inflamed currently at all ??

Simponi has a longer half life then Humira . Maybe a better choice!

I had always planned on having surgery in the Fall and Simponi helped me get there. I only used Simponi for a few months before I had surgery. Simponi worked better for me than Humira did but it didn't even get me near remission but everyone is different.

I'm happy that I had surgery and am now medicine free.

yeah i think that's were i plan to be going in 3 months is surgery. I have to wait 3 months to see my doctor again so if the new double dose of Humira doesn't put me in remission then i'm not taking anything else and will be headstrong on surgery... i'm tired of staying at home...
