Seems that when you are pregnant UC may flare or onset.
So many things going on with hormones,amino acid pathways,anti fetus rejection.

But this is interesting perhaps, I remember reading that if you are male and are going
to try FT then you should have a male donor, due to female hormones in the gut.

So from this, changing the types of hormones that get into the gut when pregnant
may affect the bacteria,or the host response to the bacteria, my speculation.

Interesting thought, kind of like Edochrine Disrupting Compounds in the environment but via FT...

Would be interesting to dig up any papers on Bacteria/Fungal production and release of hormones. I know they can from what I have read. They can both produce and metabolize them.

And we know that in plants it's the release of certain hormones that signal what bacteria will and will not be tolerated. So confusion or rapid change in this (in people) could perhaps lead to a change in the barrier properties or chemical composition of the mucus that feed certain pathogenic strains rather than separate them. Like the change to excessive saliomucins vs. sulfur mucins.
