Strange feeling left side colon

Hello all,

For the past 2 months I have been suffering digestive issues, mainly constipation, slow transit time and indigestion. At this moment I have no Idea why these things are happening. I have been to a specialist and she did my thyroid tests and they came out normal.

From What I have read on the internet, it is possible that I may have Gut Bacteria Imbalance (Dysbiosis) or Candidiasis( Yeast growth) in the colon. But again these are all guesses and I am not sure. These things began about 2 months ago with a upset stomach/diarrhea that lasted about a week, then a week after I became completely constipated and all these issues began.

Anyways my current question is about a strange feeling in my sigmoid and decending colons, this feeling has been there since the last 2 months when all this began. It basically feels like I have something in side my left side colon. Also I can even feel the Stool in there, because it seems to get stuck when ever it is passing from that area. What could this be? I have no pain at all, it's a just a strange feeling. Could it be a blockage or even some thing else?

I plan to do colonoscopy next month, but I hope I could get some answers before that

this could be distended section of colon, impacted segment, inflamed section, or even growths/tumor. OR it could be much less consequential.

Im sorry that you are having such issues! Are you currently diagnosed with UC or just posting here cuz u think you might have it?

When you say you can feel the stool in that part of your colon... do you mean literally? Like from the outside, poking around your abdomen and coming to a hard spot?

Are you also having bloating/stomach distention?
When is the last time you had a bowel movement?

The stool can be felt from outside, most of my stool is not hard, but if it is, then yes it can be felt touching my abdomen from outside

Also I have not been diagnosed with UC, but again I have only been to specialist once, she didn't really do anything. I dont have bloating, but occasion distention

UC would be more diarrhea and bloody stool. Have you seen a GI? I'm sure he/she had more to offer than just a colonoscopy in a month.

unfortunately no, She didn't do much. She thought I was being paranoid.

while less common constipation is possible whenever inflammation constricts passage of stool, but rock-hard stool (while possible) is even less common. this could easily be IBS-only or IBD-IBS, or something else. cramping and sharp pains are more common than burning sensations.

while some folks might be able to relate a similar symptom they have or have-not had, we cannot reliably suggest diagnoses based on a few verbal reports - especially when there is not the typical blood. mucus, and diarrhea. your presentation is very atypical for UC.

you may want to get an x-ray to show stool patterns before you get scoped. Likewise to be examined so the clinician can feel the hard stool through you abdominal wall. After you are cleaned out, a scope might show inflammation, but it cannot show the stool that used to be there.
