So tomorrow I go in for the first step of my j-pouch surgery. Overall I'm not nervous but I'm pretty anxious to just get to it. I think more than anything I'm just looking forward to eating again, haha.

Anyways, I had mentioned in other posts that I'd open a Q&A up for anyone who may be new or who hasn't had the opportunity to utilize some of the great blogs and other threads people have posted. You can ask anything regarding the prep, both physically and emotionally for the surgery, what lead up to the decision of surgery or ask anything about post-op and when I get to that point Ill answer it. Either way this is an open forum. Thanks all.

Hey All,

Just a quick update. Well the surgery went off without a hitch. However, my rectum was severally inflamed so because of that we just removed the colon and set up a permanent ileo. 6 months from now we are planning to construct the pouch and 6 weeks after that do a take down. Going into this I told the surgeon if rather be patient and have all ofT's crossed and I dotted.

One thing I am excited for is that because she set it up as a permanent ileo I might able to avoid some the issues a temp bring. Mind you this thinking is on assumption o Either way surgery went great abc I might be home for the Super Bowl.

The only issues I've come the gas bubble that was extremely painful. I got up and started walking a bit.

Okay that's it for now, the pain meds have me all cloudy and it's taken way to long to write this. Thanks again for the support it's invaluable
