Lol, NCOT, dont knock it until you try it. But what can I say, I like the combo even if most would hate it (but if you would hate it, at least try it without the cheddar). I also like putting plain Fage greek yogurt on top of a combo cooked banana/cheddar cheese mess lol... The combo of cool yogurt instantly chilling the warmed stuff is wonderful, like hot chocolate sauce on ice cream. If you check out some if those modern day cooking competition shows such combos of sweet and salty are becoming more common. To answer your questions though, VSL3 satchets do have some maltose as sweetener, and the probiotic itself is in some sort of dairy-ish base. As far as feeding good bacteria ... Yeah not feeding any phantom colon lol... But I reckon the small gut still needs feeding-- all that talk about
SIBO even in the colonless, as well as the proven effect of probiotics as therapy in crohns of the small gut tends to make me think that its not a bad idea to keep up some probiotics post-colon as an insurance policy, even though the risk of dysbiosis may be much lower given the rate at which the tubing is flushed out.
