Same for me, ks... I had a job interview this morning. First of all, it was early in the morning and I had no anxieties about getting there. But more importantly, in between interviews the manager asked me if I needed a restroom break. In the past I would have been SO RELIEVED for someone to offer, and probably already agonizing about how to ask for a bathroom break etc etc. But this time I actually just said "Nope, I'm OK!" and continued on with my day! I can't believe how much better my QOL is now.
Pluot, good luck with the potential job. Unfortunately I've had job offers in the past that I couldn't take because of having a pre-existing condition with significant medical claims every year where health insurance in some states would have been an issue for me before the ACA/ObamaCare went into effect and eliminated pre-existing exemptions. This disease really sucks.
Before surgery I was more concerned about
my UC than QOL. Personally, looking back, my thinking was totally backwards. This disease was consuming me every day and unfortunately I didn't even see it until my life changed when I was finally forced to have surgery.
If this (thread) is happening to you on a regular basis then I'd urge you to consider talking to your GI about
stronger medications to get into Remission or if that doesn't work then possibly surgery.
