Hi all!

I am in my 5th decade of UC (started at 15, now 52) and have exhausted all my options.

I am starting my Simponi loading dose this eve..anyone had any experience with this?

New to Biolgics, never had surgery. Steroids less and less effective, on Lialda, Canasa, and dietary changes make no difference.

It's come a long way since the 70's when I started, when all that was available was Prednisone and Azulfadine (which I am deathly allergic to)

Looking forward to reporting success to all of you!

Good Luck, I hope it really helps you! I started last week. I've heard a lot of people say the injections were painless, but I thought they were really painful, so I would suggest holding an ice cube over the injection sites before hand so they are a little bit numb!

How long did it take to start noticing some relief? That's my big question..

I was on IV steroids when I started and I'm still on them so I'm not sure if it's the steroids or the Simponi working. I will say most of the stomach pain was gone within a few days.

well, if the pain was there...and you started Simponi...and it went away...it was the Simponi....!
