OT my start to a half sleev tattoo

Just a start. 3 hours under the needle. still it is only a part of a whole under sea theme

Cool!

My friend has a full back ocean piece. It is centered around a sea turtle. Hers is all tropical and bright. It is amazing.

I can't stand sitting through Remicade infusions. I can't imagine sitting for a large tattoo. :)

Nice... the colour is awesome

Not that you'll care but here's a little known and kind of interesting fact about tattoo's:

When your looking down at your arm or wherever it happens to be, and you see the tattoo, the colours, the detail etc etc - If you where to take your arm and put it under a microscope on high power you're not so much seeing "ink in your skin" what actually happens on a cellular or molecular level is you inject your skin with ink, and you have these types of macrophages called resident macrophages. They're long living. Anyway the body or more so these macrophages recognize the ink as "foreign" and eat or swallow, or phagotize the ink. So when you look down your actually seeing the ink inside thousands of these macrophages... in some ways it's much like an immune response in IBD actually...

Anyway - that's what I learned at school a while ago, haha. Was an interesting lecture.

You know is tough to sit for a long time when you are sick like us. Really my pain threshold has risen since I got sick so it is easier. My artist also has UC so he understands me some what. this is very therapeutic for me

That is awesome that you were able to find an artist with UC. I get so nervous that I will urgently need to use the bathroom when I get tattoos and the artist won't understand why I tell them to stop so suddenly. I love the tattoo!

Its funny He did not have UC when I first started getting work done by him. He got diagnosed later.

lovely! I have sleeves too, will have to post pics someday. I've always worried a bit about the urge to use the bathroom while getting a tattoo, but it's never happened! I think the pain from the tattoo must distract the body suffieciently enough to quell any other "base" urges. Good thing! I do use the bathroom right before we get started... I'm envious, it's time for another tattoo for me! You & Red are killing me here...

Technically, that squid is brilliant. I'm impressed by the quality. But dude, no offense, absolutely no way I'd want to be looking at that every day for the rest of my life.

Are you having your entire arm done? Pics please, when it's finally finished!

Yes doing the entire arm. Have a half sleeve on my upper arm and now doing an undersea lower arm sleeve. Gonna take some time.

I said something to my GI a couple months ago about getting another tattoo. He very loudly told me no. I want the crohns ribbon and butterfly on my wrist. Maybe I should get it then text him a pic so maybe he will be over being mad at my next appts. Lol

I think a lot of people still have misconceptions about Tattoos. The place I go is extremely clean and sanitary.
