So I finally managed to graduate!.....I graduated to seeing my GI every 6 months instead of monthly or every 3 months. I'm beyond tickled over this because it truly means I am in a very good place at the moment!
How often do you guys see your GI?

Cool!!
I was seeing mine every 3 months last year until mid-summer when he got very busy. I guess we're on call at the moment, lol.
Glad you feel well. :)

Oh, I didn't realize what it meant when the GI told me when he'd like to see me next..... I was monthly, this last time he gave me 8 weeks, eek! That must mean I need to be closely watched??!! You only have to go twice a year?! Yay you!!!

Since surgery, I see mine every 6 months. Before that, probably saw him every 2 months, I suppose. It varied according to what was going on at the time.
I'm not really happy, though, as I keep on thinking of things I want to ask him and wanting checkups done... :-/

Great! I see mine every 3 months. I think it's because of the Simponi . I think I'm his first and only one one the drug. Keeping an eye on me!

I was seeing my GI every month for a while, and now I'm down to every 4 months for now. Hopefully it'll be every 6 months or once a year once I've been in remission a while!

Congrats!
I was excited when I graduated to every 2 years... It's amazing how fast the two years goes by, believe it or not.

I've been with my IBD Specialist since last March, and I've seen her five times plus one colonoscopy. The appointments aren't regular, just as this or that comes up. I've never been able to get into a rhythm because I've never been in remission. Until the end of November, we were changing my meds around all the time trying to get something to work.

Congratulations, Sherry! It somehow feels so good not to be so tightly tethered to that GI, doesn't it?

Thanks guys....yes it feels great! :)
Somehow I doubt I will ever go a year in between appts. Me and my hubby had our appts with the GI yesterday. He got the one year gig and I got 6 months. It was funny tho...my hubby is 47 and the GI asked him when he wanted to come in for his first colonoscopy. His eyes got big like a deer caught in the headlights LOL

Thats good news! because I was recently diagnosed I am seeing him every month, but as things seem to be going well I dont think I will need to see him monthly after my next visit.

WooHoo!!! Gives you some free time!
I see my GI about
every 6 months...depending on If I've had my scope or not or if I have any issues in-between.
I used to see him about
every year (because he used to do all refills via my pharmacist.

Yay such a milestone isn't it?
I actually am going 9 months in between appointments. I see mine in May and haven't been since late August I think it was. So nice!! And her office is so good about
refilling any meds I ask for (by logging onto their website) making my life so much easier. LOVE THEM!!!

Eva Lou....hold on....I'm sorry if I missed your post but are you having surgery????....oh wait nevermind....I just seen your sig. Well congrats to you girl! You are definitely going to have to tell us how that goes.....keep us in the loop okay??? And best wishes!
Sheri, 9 months huh? I'm not quite there but my GI is also good about
filling refills on a very timely manner. It's great :)
Oh and the best part....is that I don't have to give blood until Sept'14...that is one year in between blood draws! When I was on 6mp I was feeling like a frickin' pin cushion. I used to go every 2 weeks, than once a month and then every 3 months....it's a hassle.
Thanks all.....I'm gonna enjoy my free time from my GI :)
