If one mesalamine stopped working would anther work, such as Canasa

If you were using enemas before they reach further than the Canasa will. My want to try a steriod enema but not long term of course.

I'm using suppositories and enema, I just alternate, but I use 1g at night

Silly question. Is rectal Mesalamine the same as a pentasa enema?

yes, they are the same.

Suppositories though treat proctitis, enemas treat farther up for sigmoid and left sided disease.

Up the dosage to either twice a day or to a higher dosage per treatment. You have a wide breadth
way for increasing dosages.
You should also be on an oral 5ASA...very low dosage to start.

Can you go more into depth regarding your question...such as what your symptoms are, what your worries are, and where exactly is your UC limited to...etc.

Canasa is in the US....not available in Australia.

My diagnosis was mild proctitis. No visible signs. Microscopic inflammation. I have trouble with constipation. Lately I have noticed blood and am wondering if it's the constipation or my meds just aren't working any more. No bleeding when I have soft stools.
