First, call your doctor.
Mine told me, when I was first diagnosed, that I could never take aspirin, Advil, Aleve, ever again.
The only thing I have taken is Tylenol.

I took ibuprofen and aspirin yesterday. I have had a headache since Sunday, and I just had to make it through ten hours of work. The Tylenol in my purse wasn't doing anything, so I tried the work medicine cabinet. I have a prescript
ion, but I can't take it at work. It renders me useless.
You won't explode. It is the bleeding / ulceration risk that makes NSAIDs something to avoid.
Call your doctor about
options. Tylenol Arthritis works better than just Tylenol. You may get a prescript
ion, but do be careful with Rx pain medicine. Your regular doctor might be a better choice than your GI.

I take only store brand acetaminophen (generic tylenol). Regular and arthritis strength.
If I get a sinus or allergy headache, I use a Neti Pot nasal rinse that usually provides relief or a Simply Saline nasal spray.
Have had a cold for several days so I finally took 1 Benadryl severe allergy plus in the am and 1 at nite yesterday. Seems to have helped a lot.

Taking ibuprofen on occasion is not going to kill you! For those with UC taking it regularly is not recommended. Ibuprofen is the only OTC pain killer that works for me; I used it when I had UC and I continue to use it with my jpouch. I do not take it daily, maybe a few times per year.

At my age I have multiple conditions which include cardiac arrhythmia, neovascularization in my retinas (Age Related Macular Degenerating) as well as UC and others. Of these conditions NSAIDs are contraindicated for both UC and AMD.
When my Cardiologist prescribed 325 mg of aspirin per day for my arrhythmia I questioned both my GI and my Ophthalmologist about
the wisdom of taking a daily full strength aspirin. My GI’s answer was “Cardio trumps GI!”. My Ophthalmologist reaction was less graphic but similar.
So I take my aspirin.

If your doctor is out of the country, call your local hospital if you are still in pain.

3 asprin in 2 days should not be causing you pain.
I am sure if you are suffering from UC and have cold/flu too... you are gunna feel like crud and be on pain. Im in pain all the time.
I use heating pads and ice packs. And take tylenol. 2 pills at once.
Lots of resting.
