I get mad when things don't go my way

Gotta have coping skills to calm you down so the anger/anxiety/frustration doesnt take over :D

The neighbor thing kinda sucks, but you could always ask him to turn it down because you are trying to work.

The repair guy on the other hand. That would get me so frustrated!
Grrrr. I hate when people waste my time.

There are so many things we can't control... and once one thing goes wrong, usually a second one will and it just snowballs.

So keeping calm from the start will help. At least you had the day planned to be home. So the jerk isn't making you late for work or an appointment.

I see this in men in my family, maybe it's a male anger problem? We all (men and women) get frustrated with things but I've noticed the men get more focussed in their anger whereas women are perhaps more able to ignore things they can't change. Is that passive-aggressive?

I'm not saying women are better with anger, they are not. It's just a difference in how they handle it.
(Not that you are this but remember the guy who shot a guy texting at the movies? That's really bad anger.)

Your neighbor has a right to play music unless it can be heard all over the neighborhood. Can you put headphones on and listen to waves or a noise cancelling sound track?

And everyone hates repairpeople who show up late/never. We just had to replace a dishwasher, washed dishes by hand for a week until they finally came with the expensive new one and did a really crappy job. Had to call the business and deal with a rude manager who grudgingly sent the "good" repair guy who did it right. Yes husband was hot with anger and expressed it on the phone. That's life.

To you: when life gives you lemons make the best lemonade you can. Take some breaths and be glad you are alive and this is the crappiest thing you have to deal with. You don't have a loved one in a landslide or in a missing plane or dying of cancer.

In the old days when I was young(er) and working, the same annoying things to deal with.
At least today we don't have to stay off the phone "just in case someone calls" and we have a lot of "toys" including the PC to amuse ourselves while waiting.
We have the option of actually accomplishing something like writing your will or playing computer games while waiting.

Good thing about Comcast repair guy showing up late - they usually comp you - $20 or 3 months of HBO.

With other repair guys, I'm usually so grateful that they show up at all, I'm willing to forgive tardiness. (You cannot know what they got into at the last job.)

Otherwise, you sound like a typical man. That's why they usually die before their wives.

I also get mad when things don't go my way, which explains why I've been in a state of mad for over 2 decades now...and at this point I still don't know if I will ever not be mad all the time again. I live in my own mad mad world. ;)
