Torodol?

Hey guys. I have been doing amazing. I had gastric sleeve surgery. I have been in remission since going on Humira. I would say I have been good almost a year. Sorry for the long post. I hope you guys are well.

Well I have UCTD and Fibro. I went to see my Rhemi today who I normally consider one of the smartest Drs. I know. I am starting to go into a flare of UCTD and Fibro. She wanted to give me a shot of Torodol because many times that will be enough to knock out a flare. Well I did ask if it was an NSAID and she said yes it is but that also I had stopped myself and said would it be ok because it is a shot so it would not affect the stomach. She said it would go into the blood stream and affect the stomach a little but that it was just a one time thing so I should be fine. Normally I am so careful but I went ahead and took the shot. Then I realized she might have just been thinking about me not being able to have NSAIDS because of my sleeve and forgotten I have UC.

So I get home and look it up and it does say it can cause the stomach or intestines to bleed. It does seem to be talking about using it on an ongoing basis and mine was a one time shot. So do I go ahead and call my gastro or do I wait and see if I get symptoms? I have an appt with him next week and my yearly colonoscopy later in April.

My signature is probably not up to date so my meds for UC are Canasa, Lialda, Humira, hyoscyamine sulf. I did go off the VSL. After my gastric sleeve it made me sick. It has been a while now I could try it again bit to be honest I am trying to get rid if meds. I am doing so well on the meds I am on before this shot. I do not want to go into a flare though. A flare with my new small stomach scares me to death. I have D 30 xs a day with a flare and I am just getting used staying hydrated without d.

I don't know how sensitive you are with NSAIDs, but I get Torodol shots on occasion and I've never had an issue. I think maybe you should wait to see if you get any symptoms before calling your Gi, because if you do call him what would he say anyway? But if it makes your mind rest easier, then by all means give him a call :)

Interesting - I didn't know about toradol. Do you guys think it would help me? My medicine, vedolizumab, has healed most of my colon except for my sigmoid and rectum and thus I am still suferring from bad symptoms. I wonder if something like toradol could put me into a remission and the vedolizumab could maintain it? Would love your thoughts on toradol for me.

Thanks everyone. I did have some loose stools today and I am having trouble with heartburn so I called my GI. He thinks that I am taking too much nexium and that might have caused the loose stools. So I am supposed to try carafate. Not looking forward to trying to swallow that.

Pmitra the Torodol wasn't for my UC it was for my UCTD which is Undiffrentiated Connective Tissue Disease it is like Lupus. Gets kind of confusing having UC and UCTD. Sorry to confuse you.
