My...(gasp!) 'anus' really hurts...absolutely DREADING.....

A fissure causes terrible pain. That's probably what's causing the pain. I wouldn't go to a surgeon for mine unless it was bothering me for a long time and was unbearable but I could see it getting to that point because mine took long to heal and they were very painful. Hopefully yours heals on its own if you rest and are patient. I can't spell the D word either, lol.

This is works great for me: Wipe as well as you possibly can after each BM. Then, use baby wipes (the only ones I've found that don't burn is Parent's Choice in the baby section at Walmart). If you're really raw, even these will burn, but suck it up so you can get clean, then use a product called, Proshield Plus. You may have to special order it from Walgreens. It's a little expensive but lasts a long time.

 If this doesn't work, you may have a yeast infection in the anal area and using a product called "Zeasorb", works very quickly (like one or two applications) to clear things up. This stuff is also expensive, but works really well and lasts a long time. Used to find it at Walmart in the foot fungus section, but couldn't find it there the last time I needed it. Found it at Walgreen's in the yeast infection section.

My problem began 3yrs ago and has been a nightmare. The last 8 months has been the worst. After every bowl movement, I have had to deal with the constant itching and burning. It was so bad that the only thing that has given me some comfort is the Prep H. I NEVER leave home without it. The fizzures were the worst!.. It feels like I am being cut open.

Over the past three yrs my doctor has mention to me that I need to increase my intake of fiber but, never gave it much thought... UNTIL this week!

Over the weekend I was in so much pain that I just couldn't take it anymore. My wife suggested Metamucil because my stools were never normal and that this might be my issue. So we went to CVS and bought a jug of Metamucil.

I started this past Monday taking it twice a day- morning and evening and drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Well Three days later I can say that the itching and burning has completely stopped!!! I have not had to u prep h at all in my last 9 bowel movements. The fizzure pain slowly decreased each day to where no pain!!

I feel normal again. I haven't felt like this in over 3yrs.. So maybe my doctor was right, I needed to add more fiber to my diet. Well I did and Boy! what a difference it has made in my life even though it has only been three days.

If this keeps up through the weekend, then my issue has been not having enough fiber.

Now I know everyone's body is different but, we all share the same symptoms.
My suggestion is to try the Metamucil for a couple of days and see if it makes a difference in your life.

And one more thing, I even stopped using the baby wipes even though I know it's premature. I will keep you posted after 7 days.

After pooping take a shower then throw yourself on the and wash your butt with hydrogen peroxide. Since after pooping it itches, the nice burns the the hydrogen peroxide makes feel kind of good. I have also used athletes food spray, thinking that's what it was. The peroxide works cuz you kill the bacterial crap on you butt. I will need to see doctor so I know this us not a cure. It does help.
