stupiduc,
I haven't set an appt for the followup colonoscopy yet. He only just messaged me tonight.
BTW, I'm female.
Spartan,
I'm not sure what my doc is saying either. It seems that he is saying my colon's rigidity may be related to stress because the Ativan makes me feel better. The truth is, though, I've almost never experienced constipation in my entire life, despite HUGE levels of stress for the past 30 years. This is my second GI. The first GI was at the hospital where I stayed for 30 days. The first GI doc saved my life and colon. I have an appt with him in May. So I'll be getting a second opinion. The only reason I went to a different doc was because I've moved and the first doc is 160 miles round trip.
Nobody has mentioned a Fecal protectin test to me, so I just looked it up on Wiki.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faecal_calprotectinwiki said...
"Although fecal calprotectin correlates significantly with disease activity in people with confirmed IBD,[8] fecal calprotectin can be false-positve in some conditions. Most importantly, intake of proton pump inhibitors (e.g. omeprazole) is associated with significantly elevated calprotectin values."
Since I'm on protonix(a proton pump inhibitor), would I have to quit that for a while? This seems like a really good test to do to avoid another colonoscopy so soon.
