As for my perspective-
From personal experience, I don't put much stock in them like I used to (I used to get one every year from 2010 onwards but drew the line for this year). As soystud just alluded to, your symptoms should be the key:
1) Solid, bristol perfect stools, no cramping, no blood, no urgency and 1-2x morning bowel movements = lesser chance of colonoscopy picking problems up. Constipation is also problematic.
2) How are you feeling? Fatigue? Weakness? Are you energetic?
3) Have you considered fecal calprotectin instead for your colitis?
