Yesterday I knew I was going to be caught in a traffic jam because my brother had to take me clear across Phoenix to get my car in a shop between 4-5pm. There was no escaping bad traffic so I had to plan ahead.
I ate a very light breakfast and that was it for the day. I went for a vigorous hike. I used extra Canasa suppositories/enemas that day. Took extra gas-x and immodium. I wore extra underwear, took kleenex, water, etc.
Sure enough we hit traffic on the freeway and just stopped! We barely crawled along for a good 30 min. or so. It took 45 min to get there, and normally it would be about
20. My brother isn't the most patient guy so we'd leap forward and then he'd brake hard. Then we'd leap forward again..then brake hard. Oh fun. He'd also complain under his breath about
other drivers. It didn't really help me try to relax! LOL
Oh the perils and fun of city traffic!

I'll never drive while flaring ever again and jeez, traffic can be hell on earth (literally, if the weather is warm).
Was you prior name JohnPHX by any chance?

JohnPHX? Hrmm...possibly. LOL If there are some embarrassing old posts out there please delete them! LOL
Well I can think of one thing worse than traffic in hot weather....a car accident in hot weather! That would be terrible.

Why did you not think of Bentyl instead? I heave heard only a couple of folks with whom it does not work, otherwise its a life and shame saver.

What about
imodium? I think i would try that if i were going to be stuck in traffic. Where i live, you can get stuck in an hour of traffic trying to get .5 miles away. It's awful. I try to stay home when I am flaring badly. Being in the car is never good. Bentyl is supposed to calm muscle spasms. It didn't do anything for mine when I was flaring. They said to take it before enemas so I could retain them but I was still unable to retain anything.

Bentyl never worked for me regarding frequency or urgency. Imodium might help a lot if you're having diarrhea but if you're not I wouldn't count on that either.
