Can a flex sig cause a flare? re proctitis

if dr. required i get one? would that be a problem procedure for someone with proctitis, or is that a fairly benign procedure?

my GI can only see me on July 1... (wow, a long time from now, since i want to plan on traveling this summer.)

he wants to do a full colonoscopy i believe, from talking to his nurse assistant ... i *really* only want a flex sig to start.

should i feel ok in seeking out a second opinion? ie another GI?

i think a colonoscopy is too much too soon. Had a clean bill of health in first one in 2007 and don't want another one unless absolutely needed.
