Hi, sorry to hear your having such a rough time. Often when people are first diagnosed it sends them into a tail spin which is very stressful.....What I found to be helpful is to keep a food diary, even if its only for a couple of months, write down everything that you eat, and you will soon have a good idea of what you can, and cannot eat.
But really at this stage you should not be too rigid with what you think you can eat, because everybody is different, and what one person can tolerate, others will have trouble with, this process takes a bit of time to become clear, it doesn't happen overnight.
I had a clear idea within a month, I know I am lactose intolerant, so I don't touch milk, but I eat sensibly, blandly, stuff like chicken with rice, steak and mashed potato, I certainly don't follow a rigidly controlled diet, that would depress me.
Try not to panic, and know that once you have your meds sorted, and a good idea of things you can eat without problems, you will feel calmer, not so traumatized...
